your hiking in the wicklow mountains your fellow hiker falls and breaks his leg! he cant walk so you bring him to the nearest ranger station and rest there! you stay there overnight and when you wake up you notice everyone in the cabin looking worried!

you hear on the radio that overnight almost everyone in dublin is sick or dead! pressuming it is swine flu. you decide to stay in the mountains! you think you are safe and its only swine flu UNTIL one night while eating the last of therations a huge body smashes through the windows! the Z's are here!

    what would you do?

there is 5 hikers and 1 ranger he has a shotgun with 12 rounds! you are up the mountains! the ranger has a car but it is a good 20 meteres from the house and there is about 100 z's outside!!

    what would you do??

Well the poor git with the broken leg is being left behind as bait to distract the Zs, along with anyone that tries to help him.

I am grabbing the shotgun/keys and am out the back door while the rest are being eaten:D

Blast a path through the Z's with the shotgun and make a run for it. If you make enough of a space then you'd most likely get away with it if they are slow zeds. If they are fast z's your fecked anyway.

break some furniture. make pointy sticks, make a hole in the roof, climb out onto roof. laugh manically while jabbing zombies in the eyes. 100 z's = ~a day's work.

go back get the radio and any phones/keys/useful stuff on the corpses, and ensure they're dead. find out via radio/phone where is still safe [most of wicklow, probably] and make your way there.

preferably at a local pub. hold up there, ensure someone has a Queen cd for the jukebox.

    :D

I am gone out the back whilst the rest are being eaten, and they scream and make noise while being eaten, thus drawing the Zs towards them. :D

Presuming they are shufflers, I am heading away from them at a steady jog, sprinting is out as that way means you can miss something ahead of you.

The shotgun could blast a nice person-sized hole in the roof of the cabin. Then by climbing on a desk, i'd get up on the roof where the zombies can't get me. I can then take a good look at the situation.

I'd see how many zombies are between the cabin and the car. Shoot the ones closest to the car until i narrow them enough so i can jump over the rest from the rooftop, and being careful to keep two or three shotgun rounds.
Sprint to the car, and get outa there.

From there i would drive to the closest port, probably in Arklow, looking for survivors on my way, hijack a boat and head east towards england, hoping the outbreak hasnt reached that far.

Well 100 zombies would definitely surround a cabin quite thickly so I think we would have 101 zombies if you ran out!

I'd try the Night of the Living Dead technique and assuming they weren't actually in the cabin yet, I'd try and board up the windows etc as there are probably tables and cuboards.

Failing that, the roof is the next best bet.

Well the OP has already said that they have come into the cabin through the window, so best of luck boarding up the windows with the Zs beside you.:D

Well I'm presuming the windows are standard window size i.e. only one zombie can fit in at once. So, pull in the one z that has broken through, smash his brains in and blast a couple of shotgun rounds through the one window to give you a few seconds to push a table up over it.

Otherwise I don't see the point of a scenario where you start dead!

I am reading it as a huge body of Zs come crashing in, so I'm off with the shotgun and the rest can stray behind and become Zombie snacks.:D

This scenario needs a bit of work. You listen to the radio and hear most of Dublin is dead or dyeing and just think ho hum, probably just a bit of swine flu I'm sure it'll blow over lets just stay in this little cabin, for a few days it looks like? During that time nobody thinks to look out a window or stretch their legs for a bit and notice all these zombies who have randomly made their way out of the city and up into the mountains.

First of all I wouldn't go hiking on mountains and 2nd of all once I'd heard most of Dublin was dead I would have made my way west to celebrate and start work on my fort. :D

Thats exactaly what I was thinking. If you let yourself get into that situation, you nearly deserve to die, you certainly weren't reading anything that has been written here.

If I ever found myself in that nightmare scenario, it would be everyman for himself, Since my mate is injured, I'm afraid he is dead, if I try and save him, I too, will die, he wouldn't have wanted that ;). the other people are strangers and in this life or death situation, them dying may mean my living.

You don't say how many rooms the cabin has, we can assume more than one. I would grab gun, get into second room, while my unlucky cabin mates are being eaten and drawing all zeds on them, I exit through another window or blast hole in roof, as earlier suggested. Once feeding time is in full swing I make my escape off roof and leg it. If I could get car, I might but it wouldn't be necessary.
