Did a quick search and couldnt find anything so hopefully someone can help me.

Basically its my Mums 50th in a few weeks and Im planning on suprising her with a trip to London. I remember seeing a show on telly a few years back about all the places to buy reams of material for dressmaking, specifically a market. She is desperate for some new material, and is a bit disheartened with Hickeys offerings.

So wondering if anybody here can point me in the right direction! Or if anyone has other suggestions, all will be greatly apreciated!

have a search round wardour street in soho, there are a couple of good stores there that central st martins students use.... i also think there are a couple of big fabric stores in shepherds bush which is in west london...
    perhaps look on yell.com ....
    hope this helps!

Def Soho they are usually really helpful, If you say your are trying to source something in particular they will advise. Esp if your making a decent purchase.

They tend to be more modern and edger than Paris cause Paris can under cut them on price for the basics.

These guys were so helpful last year, they are high end but have edger fabrics at really good prices. They were very expensice on Lace etc:

All the others were along the same street or to the left towards Oxford St.
