Experience with Carpet Right?

Hi, we recently bought our first house ... with awful carpets on the stairs and the reception room which we need to replace. I read a few posts re Carpetright and many people are very happy with their service so we will possibly go with them. I just wanted to ask if anyone has had experience with them in Cork and also do they remove the old carpets or do we need to take care of this ourselves first? I'm not sure how the whole thing works. Thanks for your help.

Hi, we got carpet from them and overall was happy. There was an issue with the measurements and where the cuts were to go, but it was sorted on site by the fitter who was great. They would want the old carpet removed I would imagine, and furniture removed as well.

We recently had to get carpet for the complete upstairs of our house (new build). I shopped around (Limerick), started in Carpetrite and then went onto local shop owners. The more you shop around the more you learn about carpets. Carpetrites underlay was crap compared to others, and we found that we weren't getting as good a deal as we thought. Ended up going to an 'industrial' supplier, they had all the well known carpet brands, got 80-20 mix, with this really thick foam padded underlay, in the colour I wanted and it worked out cheaper than Carpetrite. Carpet rite wanted a deposit before coming out to measure up! Just shop around a bit more, at least you can haggle with private shop owners.
