Would anyone have any recommendations as to what bike I should buy. I cycle to work everyday which takes me about 10/15 mins. Would anyone have any recommendations as to what bike I should buy.

I cycle to work everyday which takes me about 10/15 mins. At the weekends I may go for a cycle but will never cycle longer then 6 miles or so.

I am looking for a new bike as my current bike is slowly falling to pieces (bought cheap in a sports shop) and was never the same after my saddle was nicked and I had to replace it one that didn't really fit so I had to put a load of tape around it to keep in wedged in.......

Any advice? My budget would be 200-300.
