Watching Streams online

    Hey guys

    When it comes to watching streams online is the quality of the stream simply dependent on your connection speed etc? Are there any other variables that can improve the quality? i.e. faster processor, more RAM etc etc. I'm considering purchasing a new laptop and one of the things I'd use it for is watching streams (legally btw!) but am often disappointed with the quality of them.

    Is it simply a case that you cant get high quality live streams?

    The quality of a laptop wont improve a stream.

    Connection speed and the bitrate of the stream determines the quality of the stream.

    stream quality is independent of your pc's specs. and your internet speed only determins how fast it buffers or loads, so getting a new laptop for higher quality is pointless, to an extent that you can get a Hi-Def screen to play the likes of apples movie trailers on its site that can be 1080p, but you wont really find anything other than trailers in true 1080p online.
