Noticed that myself, but was gald to see that no innocent people were killed in the attack.

Either way, he's our neighbour from across the water and I hope he rests in peace.

And I hope God gives his family, comrades and friends strenght, and I mean that from the heart.

I wonder would Mulligan and his family, comrades and friends have felt any remorse for the terror and murder inflicted on the people of Afghanistan - or Derry for that matter ??

Mr McArmalite, you are on seriously thin ice here. This is not the thread to go on a rant about your opinion on the British military.

Open warning to all. Next person I see who posts anything on any thread under 'military' even a hint disrespectful of the dead without specific justification is going straight to the ban list. None of this 'infraction' nonsense.

    NTM

And a huge thanks from me.

Speaking as a serving Irish soldier who has served in multi-national roles more than once and on more than one mission I now see British & all military member's of the UNITED NATIONS, NATO & EuFor as brother's in arm's, and I mourne their loss.

Also as an Irish soldier, on an Irish discussion forum I'd appricate seeing a much more aggressive stance taken against member's here who disrespect the fallen.

FFS, even in times of war enemies have traditionally extended military honours to soldiers of the enemy.

Lets wipe out the disrespect here & now and extend a little common decency.

    /Rant over.

No word on an Irish link as of yet. But does that really matter... the lad in question leaves behind a pregnant lass he was going to return to and marry, a devastated family and mates, not to mention the other guys who died with him and the forth lad who is seriously injured.

Numbers of dead now rapidly approuching 200. Waiting to see how the press will deal with that.

Thoughts and condolences to the other halfs, families and muckers of these lads and for the record, the sick pit of my stomach feeling would have been the same were they Canadian, Italian, Polish, Irish, Welsh, Aussie or otherwise. This thing is by no means even close to a solution, its going to get worse.

    RIP lads.
