A General Election wouldn't be a good thing to have right now. If one policy is being executed, and then another contrary policy is executed after that in relation to the economy it isn't likely to work. As much as I would like a change in Government, I think it is actually better for us to let FF get through the rest of their term, hopefully with as little damage as possible.

Yep. Time to get rid of them. Who cares how expensive they are to hold? Our money is being bloody squandered anyway.

    What's an election?
absolutely, these idiots caused the problem, and should never be elected again

I'm gonna say no. People's opinions are primarily based on BS and sensasionalism at the moment. I think the electorate would vote in an even worse government at the moment!

I think let the current shower fix their mess and vote in a better alternative when one can be found.

    We could storm them.
Airsoft board to flank the perimeter. Get some of them A/R/T and health and fitness posters to remove the security. AH could distract everyone by holding up insulting pictures of their mothers. We'll probably need to scrape together at least 50 quid to pay off the ceann comhairle and then we could just, you know, kill them all or burn a school or something. They have a bar in there you know.

Its like trying to decide between being shot in the head and getting your throat slit.

We don't need an election we need a revolution.

I voted yes but tbh i can't for the life of me think who'd be able to clean up their mess at this point.... but then again pretty much anyone would be better than the current lot. Especially in terms of health, our health care system is being systematically destroyed to scrape money together to throw at the bottomless pits that are the banks etc.

    What's an election?
There is no alternative so no. Let FF enjoy their mess.

12 years is enough, different people in power will make a change even if there policies are similar

I voted "yes" for a number of reasons.

    1. So that those that are using outdated bygone ways of doing business are shown the door if possible.

    2. To get rid of those that are only holding on to their seats as they see a TD position as a career and not as a vocation as it should be. They are here to serve the public and state, not themselves.

    3. Fianna Fail have been too far long using the same tired heads to run and handle day to day operations formulate future business/social progression. The same people that are trying to dig us out of the hole we are currently in, are the same people that are partly responsible for allowing it to be as bad as it currently is.

    4. Even if FF was elected back, at least some (I'm realistic to know not ALL) of the bad, now useless, less energetic and corrupt TDs will be gotten rid of by the electorate.

    5. As hinted at in 3. a younger crown might more energy and willingness to bring newer ideas, some from outside the normal box of (old!) thinking might be of benefit to the state and its people. The is some truth in the saying "You can't teach an old dog new tricks".

    6. Do we really, really want/need the same heads that are screwing up consistently day in, day out, trying to get us out of the hole we are in already? Are we that stupid to let them?
    Apparently so! WHY???
If a bad manager ran a company into the ground, causing loss of jobs, effected the health care of the the staff members family, effected their ability to get their hands on drugs, effected their ability to hold onto their homes, etc...
Would you still employ that same bad manager to still run things??? NO, you'd fire his/her ass in a flash for fcuks sake!

    7. I'm tired of the Irish people being looked down upon as dumb sheep to be herded and their votes/rights/opinions either discounted or ignored.

I could go on and on and bore the feck out of ye to be honest with other reasons ...but by fcuk "Yes" I'd like to see an election.
The ONLY ones that fear an election is the ones that are fcuking up - and if they are doing that go read point number 6 again!!!
