    Right well my main Toshiba laptop failed the other day and is going in for repair as its under warranty. Looking to backup the drive, just in case they want to wipe it (unlikely, but just in case) and ordered a cradle through Komplett delivery by DHL but it wont arrive until Monday which is the same day the laptop is being picked up by UPC. I also have no other laptop which can take the drive either.

    Any other suggestions? Must be missing some other method I cant think of!

    Check Maplin or the likes for something like this, can be a great saviour.

    USB -> 2.5" SATA/IDE Connector Cable.

    Allows for backups of varying connector type devices and at least you can worry about a caddy for it after its backed up.

    Alternativly when you have time, order one of these, also a great addition to any IT persons desk.

    Hard Drive Dock

    Very good idea, nice and simple too and justs works.

    Cheers for that. I just ordered one of those (free shipping too :))

    OP I think Norton 360 comes with online backup space. Maybe download the trialware version and backup your stuff online. I'm not sure how much space they give you though. I'm sure they'll have all the details on symantec.com

    No chance am I putting Norton on my machine. I spend enough time taking them of machines!

    Anyway, laptop started last night. Amusing seeing as it refused point blank previously.
