Can someone give me a detailed explanation on what function a hydrosphere provides and what situations it is required for. Can someone give me a detailed explanation on what function a hydrosphere provides and what situations it is required for.

I tried googling but all I can get is pages on the other hydrosphere, as in all the bodies of water on our planet.

Any info would be appreciated.
