    hey gang
    hope yer all well
    i use voipstunt - www.voipstunt.com

its the cheapest voip there its really good, apart from the fact that they dont have a mac version, so i gotta use xlitem, which isnt the greatest piece of software.

so i was just wodering, if there is any cheap and easy way of being able to run windows apps on macs.

i already have xp installed on my macbook, but i dont wanna have to be restarting jst to make a simple phonecall.

    thanks very much

    ed

I think any SIP softphone on OS X will do, you don't have to run or emulate windows.

If you really insist on running windows in a VM then:
    1) VMware Fusion
    2) VirtualBox
    1) Parallels Desktop
    are your friend.

If you want to emulate windows, then Crossover might be a solution.

I'd definitely recommend an OS X native SIP softphone instead.

I don't know Darwine at all, but in principle you'll be definitely better off giving other native SIP clients a try for the more efficient use of resources and the seamless integration into the host operating system.

Do consider emulation/virtualization only if you tried them SIP soft phones, all you can get hold of.

ah no doubt - if you can find an osx native app use that no questions asked

run the exe - open it with darwine tho and it will install as if it were on windows (look like anyway)

it will open x11 and dont shut down anything it opens - make sure when it asked you where to save it you know where that is i usually change it to desktop

the installation is simple - identical to windows
