My laptop is turning red!

    I have a white MacBook.

I bought it about three or four months ago but its turning red. The back has a big streak of red along it. Both sides of the trackpad are gone red, and lots of keys have one red as well. Even the charger has started turning red!

Can anyone give me some advice, or should I bring it back? Have I got a right to a refund?

    Thanks guys!

Bring it back. It sounds as if the heat from the laptop is causing the casing to change colour.

But thats just it, the charger is turning red as well. I asked it if could be the colour coming off (in a Mac shop I didn't buy from) and he said the casing is white plastic throughout.

Strange though. I'll try and upload some pics later.

I tried to put pictures up but the colour won't show up in the image. Its clearly red though. I'm actually pretty annoyed. It's called a Macbook White - not Macbook White That Will Eventually Turn Red

Discolouration is a very common problem with Apple Macbooks, due to shoddy plastics, it was acknowledged by Apple if I recall. Google 'Macbook Discoloration' (US spelling) for more info.

If you're under warranty im sure they'll put it right, if not, ive heard an eraser (rubber) can remove it.
-Edit: Here's an old article link, though im not sure what the current stance is.

Sorry, didn't mean to make you see red.
I'd trade that pseudo-mod attitude in for a sense of humour if I was you.

Sorry I was just in a bad mood about the piece of sh1t.

Anyway, the eraser trick worked, and five minutes of rubbing red, it worked.

Thanks for that tip Voodoo Child!

No bother, and my apologies for annoying you.
Hope you get a permanent solution to the laptop problem.

OP, if you have a problem with a post, report it, you are not a mod of a thread just because you started it.

All new generation Macbooks will turn red if they continuously download illegal material.
