PS3 Problem?

    Just tried to play a game of FIFA on my PS3 but it wouldn't load up. Once I switch the console on the usual screen saver comes up but without the usual option menu(seen below) I watched a DVD this morning (one of my own played many time before on this PS3) and it ran perfect

    Anyone know how I can fix this?

    hhmm that is weird case, so waht your saying is that you turn it on but the XMB ( cross manu bar ) doesn't show up? it says here that your system may be corrupt, maybe due to turning it off at the back while the green light is still on
    check it out it might b able to help you

    but i'v heard of the yellow light of death but this is a new one.

    edit: note that reinstalling the ps3 hard drive you will loose trophies, themes, pictures, videos, etc. it hink your PSN ID is not effected as it's stored on the sony data base but make sure
