Road mirror (to install on a pole) - where to get one in LImerick or Dublin?

    Hello,

I have a driveway looking into a bend. (The place is rented so moving the driveway is not an opton).

I would like to install a mirror on a pole across from the driveway, so I could see traffic in it. I've seen a number of such mirrors installed around the place. The landlord does not mind; but the problem is, I can not find one!

I am in Limerick. I've been calling Motor Factors and Halfords and they don't seem to have one. Where else should I look?

I will also be in Dublin for a day soon and if I knew where to get it there I could pop up.

Advice on where to buy such a mirror in Limerick or Dublin would be greatly appreciated.

These type of mirrors are used in shops, etc for security. Maybe you should try asking in a place that deals in retail security or a place that sells glass or mirrors rather than a motor factors.

Does the landlord own the pole across the road form you? If it's a utility pole there shouldn't be any issues with mounting a mirror on it, but if it's on private land or a private pole then you'd need to ask the owner before sticking something onto it. While they should be OK, you know how some people get if not asked first.

The Irish site has crazy prices!

On the US one, prices are OK, but there is no quote for intetrnational delivery. Thanks - I'll try writing to them. (Edit - they quote no email - I'll have to call them in US working hours)

PS From the detail on their site
Just why is 7dayshop.com selling convex traffic mirrors you may well ask…
The island of Guernsey has many narrow roads and lots of difficult to exit driveways. Expensive local shop (and internet) prices for these mirrors made us look into offering them but at much improved prices. We hope to have achieved that for all of our customers benefit !!

I got one of those mirrors from the 7 day shop. Installed it on Saturday to replace an old car mirror I had and it made a big difference.
However, it lasted less than a day before some scobie put a stone through it yesterday!

Now looking for a shatterproof one... the ones I've found so far are mad money! Seems acrylic may be the way to go.
