Just back from cycling the many long, hilly, smooth and quiet roads of the French countryside. Anyone know of the best roads in Ireland for road cycling?
Anywhere in the country and from 20 km on...

    Cheers, Dave

Wicklow. You might want to be a bit more specific.

Was involved in developing these in North Tipp - if that's of any use.

To be honest, I'm just looking for your own personal favorite rides, maybe we can share routes with each other. Be nice to have a complete 'great cycling routes of Ireland' for cyclists to try out.

I'm quite new to cycling, aint done any more than 100km but getting well into it.

So, what are the top 10 50km+ rides in Ireland?

You sound like I was a year ago, fresh back from doing a bit of cycling around France! What part did you go to?

If like most people here you are based in Dublin, we are really lucky to have Wicklow in our back yard. It's pretty great for cycling. On the other side of the city, that is the north side, the countryside is flat and surprisingly undeveloped considering how close it is. There are endless combinations of quiet back roads to choose from up there.

I've cycled in many places in Ireland and the only one I really disliked was east Galway. Bad roads and no scenery.

Loved the northwest of our country especially. Much more serious hills can be found in Co. Kerry.

Yes I'm in Bray so great routes at my finger tips.

Think I might give Donegal a try, got any nice tips?

    Cheers, Dave
