    It's only after started.

When I download something it stops half way and once I click on the window, it goes into (not responding)

I try Ctrl Alt Delete but it doesn't bringing up the task manager and I have to power it off via the power button. Done this a few times now, which can't be good for the computer?

My laptop is runs on vista. Any ideas on what's wrong?

Could be a virus..try going into safe mode and use a full system scan. What antivirus are you using?

Try a new browser and see if that changes anything. If you have the resources you could try a live cd and check if it's not just certain filetype names. You could have a firewall that blocks you downloading dangerous files (such as exe)
