    The most important one imo is number 10, are personal beliefs driving the claim?

    The claims you should put to the most scrutiny are the ones that you're most inclined to accept to make sure you're believing it because it's true and not because you want to.

    Besides anything else, if you find a piece of evidence to support your position and hold it up as proof positive that you're right, it's pretty embarrassing if it turns out to be wrong :P
