Hi ya been saving for the past couple of months.
was thinking of getting my jg g36 fixed but I've got some extra cash coming in, I'm kinda tempted to get a new gun, looking at the G&G range theres a few that catch my eye.

Namely the Scar L in BLACK :D. I did a search of youtube on them and mostly found a bunch of unnecessary information and nothing really about how the gun performs which Is the main question.

    Have you got one?
    How do you find it?

Any other info tips or suggestion for gun in that kinda price range would be great :)

the other gun I was looking at was the GR300 Long.

    thanks

I have it in tan. Great AEG at stock set up. 20 rps, 300-310 fps. Eirsoft have/had it. BTW, tan is a superior colour, as it offers better environment blending, without the silly CoD4 paint job.

Could say the same about tan really.

i have the l in black. its a great aeg. same gearbox quality, high rof, very very accurate. you can also get a short barrel for them now.

i did a review on it here way way back...you could search for it.

the battery compartment, is one pin at the back, take it off, put in new one. it is different to the dboys/ca ones which if i remember rightly have it in the cheek rest.

other aegs in the range, well pretty much everything of quality, so consider yourself spoiled for choice. :D

Its not too heavy, due to the magnesium upper. It will take m4 mags, so you are spoilt for choice there:D

    :eek:Thread Hi-jack:eek:

    sorry OP
just while everyone one is talking SCARS which is the best version for quality and value
    ,
    CA
    G&G
    VFC
    Ares
    DBOYS

anyone waiting on the GBB SCAR

Currently have a VFC SCAR-L DX in black. I'm not too gone on the WE GBB SCAR, I'm waiting to see what the VFC ''want some kick'' GBB SCAR is like. I hope WA do one then AGM copy them like their M4s.

The best SCARs I'd say are the G&Gs and VFCs, the VFC is a solid performer and being the most realistic imo but the G&G has the best internals, performance and the best tan finish imo. The Dboys are ok internally but the external of the tan version is a little off putting but they seem solid enough and good value for money.

The Ares has a quick change barrel feature, while its not faithful of the real thing its a nice feature in an AEG. They have the EGLM for it but it fits all the other SCARs aswell. Don't know about performance.

The CA is well.... a CA. The wiring in the stock can be a bit of a mess and it has exposed external wiring with the stock folded, the other SCAR models have the electric conductors built into the hinge. The CA has a gen 2 stock while the other makes all have gen 3s. The finish of tan version is a bit odd looking imo. It's very overpriced for a standard CA AEG.

If I were to rate them in order value for money, and being a VFC owner it would be:

    1: G&G
    2: VFC
    3: DBoys
    4: Ares
    5: JLS
    6: CA

well you are asking me the right questions...i have the g&g gr300 and did a review of that also...

ultimately what you are buying here is the skin of a body over a gearbox/hopup. they both have the same here so they fire the same...i have the gr300 shorty, namely because i am a bit of a carbine whore and would have gotten the scar shorty if g&g had created it when i was buying.

the gr300 has a large battery compartment and you remove one screw, slide forward the plastic cover and replace. that is probably easier but it much more to do with preference then everything else. i would use the scar as i tend to do milsim rigouts and as the scar has already been issued to some ranger units in the US military, you can do a layout. i love the gr300 namely because i changed the folding stock to the g&g sopmod stock which is IMHO one of the coolest out there and i am suprised even now china has not replicated it.

both take the same mags which is good news, both are the same internals so you are firing the same aeg under the skin of a different look...so the question is which do you prefer the look of (IMHO)

the only real issue on nearly all g&g is the fake logos. Now if that is a thing to get on your wick, and it does to some people, then buyer beware. It doesnt to me, except on one of their models: the g&g hk416 they should have them. that is also a great aeg BUT the 416 is all about the logos and shape. The logos on the 416 are, lets be honest really cool. Well at least i think so. I have a few g&g aegs...i have not had a single issue. I dont even change the hopup rubber until i have to as i actually find the standard one works really well but others here may disagree.

the only downside is at 9.6v, the ROF is very high. Now if you are trying to use midcaps as i do, you can go through mags fast, so you need to learn the rule from Corporal Dwayne Hicks USCM...remember...short controlled bursts. hope that helps...

Might throw another option into the mix for you,

    http://www.actionhobbys.co.uk/WE-Scar-Black-WETTI-AFC-AWSS-Custom-Gas-co2-Pre-Order_AOW8V.aspx

Obviously, it couldn't be brought into the country with the fps as shown, but a legal version might be available to us here?

I would absolutly love one of those GBB scars, not sure about them being WE though. And the mags are very expensive.
