    A not-VAT registered freelancer based in the Republic, invoicing a VAT registered limited UK company:

    What details should be on the invoice?

    Name, address, contacts, reg. biz number (if you have), date, invoice number, payment terms (if you could be bothered) - And that should suffice.

    Billing currency (eg EUR or GBP)

    Your bank account IBAN and BIC so they can pay you electronically (required to be shown on invoices by implication under EU Directive 2560/2001)

    Their (the customer's) order reference numbers (if any).

    I assume you know you will not be charging them VAT so that should be excluded from the invoice.
    First I've heard of having to quote an IBAN number -they will most likely pay you by cheque I suspect. Nobody invoicing me from the UK quotes an IBAN?
