    Current info:
The HEANET/O2 mobile broadband offer is being renewed for another year. Details are currently being finalised but at this stage it is almost certain that from September 1st, we will have an improved one year contract at €9.99 per month and a rolling 30 day contract of €12.99 per month. With both options a modem + SIM device is available at €20. Please note that for all current and new contracts taken out before September 1st this year the new price will only take effect on the anniversary or renewal of the contract and not from September 1st. So if you are currently thinking of purchasing it would be better to hold off for the moment. More details to follow later next month.

so o2 are risking overselling their service again this year like happened last year after they brought out this student mobile internet deal?

As far as I know they didn't end it.

I got the student deal there in mid June and I got it for €13 a month and the modem was free.

Does anyone have an updated link to their official page for this deal? The ones linked from last year (including http://www.o2.ie/heanet) go to a 404 of doom. Doom I tells ya!

    [edit]
    Aha, now it's here.

o2 can go f##k themselves.went in to buy the student offer ,ended up barred from the system for one year, yet no one in the store could tell me why.went down to 3 and had no problems.

Does that mean I could sign up for this and quit after a month and get 1 months internet, and a modem for €33?

why would they bar you from the system? have you had the student broadband before and went way over the fair use limits or leave a large bill unpaid? it seems odd thay would bar you from the o2 system? is there something you are not telling us?
