man made east coast ireland reef

with the explosion of surfing in ireland as i have read it,or the hawaii of europe they say also,iam just wondering if any body else has thought how good it would be the have a man made reef on the east coast of ireland ,they have 1 in britain and a few other worldwide,how could you get the politicians to do this,it would bring in tourism and pay for it self after a while.am i just a dreamer please let me know because its a shame we on the east coast only get to do this wonderful sport every now and again with all the travelling.

It wouldnt work, an artifical reef is no use unless there is swell to hit it.

Maybe a wave pool for the east coast?? What i'd give to live next to THIS

An artificial reef for the East coast would be as big a waste of money as the current government's salaries.
It would be like your car with no petrol in it - a big expensive useless thing.:P

i would rather something like that, i like having crap waves on the east coast, it makes trips to good breaks so much more exciting, (like having just a little drop of miwadi in your drink- then it tastes a lot better with a good dollop of it in there!)

There is one of those in the national aquatic centre, i don't think they will let you stand up on it though
