I recieve JSA and Rent Supplement but this week there was nothing in the Post Office. I went into the Social Welfare who were apologetic and said they'd send it through and it would be there for me on Tuesday but I'd have to sort out the Rent Supplement myself. So I went to them this morning. Fridays are Emergency Only but…

I recieve JSA and Rent Supplement but this week there was nothing in the Post Office. I went into the Social Welfare who were apologetic and said they'd send it through and it would be there for me on Tuesday but I'd have to sort out the Rent Supplement myself.

So I went to them this morning. Fridays are Emergency Only but I thought I'd chance going up to see someone because my rent was actually due today, an emergency to me. I was told that unless there was "a death in the family or a fire" that I couldn't see anyone.

I wasn't given a reason from the Social Welfare so I was wondering was it to do with the Bank Holiday? Although this has never happened before. Did anyone else find no payment this week? In a further case of bad timing, it's my birthday tomorrow .
