not sure if this is the place for this question.

What is the best thing to use for cleaning a wooden Table (oak).

When i scrape it with my nail, all the ground in dirt comes off but general cleaning products dont seem to get it!

    Dont want to damage it.

Did you try white spirits? Wipe it clean with the spirts and then wash the spirts off with washup liquid and warm water

Methylated spirits is Denatured alcohol with methanol ( the purple stuff ) added to stop people drinking it. Most hardware stores will have it. You also use it for shellac ( buttons or flakes ) you dissolve them in the alcohol and different concentrations to make different 'cuts' and then when you apply it to the wood the alcohol evaporates off leaving the shellac finish behind.
