    Hi all.

Just wanted to pop back in and that everyone for their advice on bikes and routes a mth or so ago.

Still waiting for the hybrids to come back in stock.
But as I had bought a 2nd hand MTB as advised here and it was sitting idle decided to take the plunge and try it out today - esp after sitting in a jam yesterday for 1.5hrs...

So door to door today from Walkinstown to Blanch took me 50min (around 9 miles with the route I took); same amt of time for the car journey once there is any traffic on the road. Granted I came in a bit early just to get used to being back on the road. But loved it.

Bit surprised though that most other cyclists I met except for 2 just returned blank looks when I nodded hello. So just in case the 2 who said hello to me are on this - cheers guys :)

Well done! You certainly picked a nice morning for it. And the best bit is that you'll get faster!

You're only allowed to greet someone on a similar styled bike.

Do you nod hello to every person you pass when walking or driving or getting on a bus/tram/train/plane? Do you expect them to nod hello back? Same for bikes.

But well done on getting out of the car and onto the bike. Weather looks good for the next week too, so enjoy!

We're all meant to wave enthusiastically at trains, right?

    Cheers all.

Well I defo wave at trains & I flash my lights alot at other motorists - though that might explain a few things...

Point taken though - guess I got carried away with the nice morning.

I used to not wave. Then I started going for spins up the hills and was then waving all around. Then I started waving on my commute too. As people didn't wave back I now only wave to people who are wearing jerseys and look like they go for spins outside of their commute too. Although I do return waves, assuming I'm not avoiding a car or something.

But anyways enough rambling, congrats on your cycle today, beautiful morning to go to work be out on the bike alright.
