In a thought a little influenced by the worst character thread, I was thinking "What about the characters who disappeared, or were killed off too quickly in a film" characters that by going out of the story too soon took away from it.

Eg. Oli from Hostel "Of course my horse". I think the film would have had more character to it for longer if he'd died a little later.

God ya, executive decision iirc they gave him top billing and all for it.

Good idea for a thread op, my choice would be in that strange film doomsday. That actor who was also in dog soliders who was the captain and the cop in 51st state of the soldiers i always like him in films and thought he'd have a big part in doomsday but did not.

Samuel L. Jackon: Deep Blue Sea

He was in it about 5 minutes I think!

Sam Jacksons death in Deep Blue Sea was awesome!
It came out of nowhere, given he was the biggest star in the movie and as long as you saw the film before the reviews or some loudmouth git saw it you were guarunteed a shock, brilliant, also probably the only bit of real innovation in the film, the rest of it being knock offs of Jurassic Park and Jaws, still fun though!

I thought Ben Affleck snuffed it rather quickly in Smokin' Aces, kinda expecting him to last a little longer, enjoyable film though, especially the Tremor Brothers.

Why do you need an excuse to see the film? I've never understood this mentality of people being ashamed of the films they enjoy of guilty pleasures. If you like a film then why hide it.

    John Travolta, Pulp fiction

He was in the final scene of the movie. I think you misread the OP. It's not about characters that died in a film, but characters who were killed off too early in a film ie: being taken out of the film and therefore depriving us of them.

    Planet of the Apes (2001)
    Kris Kristofferson
. I was glad to see him in the movie because he was a genuinely good actor and likeable character. Then he just dies and we have to go through the majority of teh film without him.

    I'd go with
    Carlo Rota (guy from 24)
in Saw V. They go to the effort of making someone the most interesting character only to kill him off in the first act. Ridiculous, then again why would I expect anything more from the Saw franchise?

Sean Pertwee, a likeable actor in most things he is in

Also the son of the guy who played Worzel Gummidge

Biggest one ever is Janet Leigh in Psycho (and if anyone complains about this being a spoiler, you're a moron)

Also Drew Barrymore in Scream, well hidden from audiences too, got top billing on the poster, did press interviews for it

Samuel L. Jackon: Deep Blue Sea

He was in it about 5 minutes I think!

Its at least an hour into it where he gets killed, what a death scene though, and he only reason he even made the movie was so he could go golfing while not on the set, he even ****s off during the cast commentary on the dvd once his character dies as he has no reason to stay around and talk about the rest of the movie:D

Totally agree with you there, they made a mess of X Men The Last Stand, if 20th century fox had of just been patient and let Bryan Singer finish Superman Returns then we might of had a decent movie!!
