I play midfield and was wondering if people have any pointers for playing there ..as I want to Improve ...

such as should the midfieder stay between the two 50s or should be like colin lynch and go from 21 to 21?

where should they distribute the ball? in general
ie low ball to the corners cross field balls or on the full forwards head or low to him..

should a midfielder solo much with the ball..like tom kenny and shoot for points or just lay it off?....

should one midfielder go forward and one defensive or both defensive?

any tricks for the throw ball?

and where to be for puck outs your own and the oter teams..etc

people can but in their positions if the like and il give my views for what there worth

I played midfield for years and found that catching/handpassing were the two skills that really stood to me. I never tended to solo with the ball but really worked on laying off the ball quickly which inevitably ended up providing one of the forwards with a scoring chance.

Also ground hurling/sidelines are two skills that will really stand to you - you can't beat fast, first time ball and if you work on this you will speed up your strike speed.

apart from that you will need an engine that will allow you to keep up at least 3/4 quarter pace for the time the ball is in play. Don't go out with the mindset that you're defensive or offensive - just fit into how the game is going - work hard, cover the ground sensibly, take scores when you can ...

As a local always used to say to us:

Put the ball in high low!
