The amount of time that Jobseeker's Benefit (JB) depends on how many PRSI contributions you have.

    Under 260 - JB is paid for 39 weeks - 6x39 = 234 days.
    260 and over - JB is paid for 52 weeks - 6x52 = 312 days.

Are you sure your 'stamps' run out in September? When you were getting Jobseeker's Benefit for the days you weren't working, you were only using up certain days of JB (not a full week).

For example, a person working a 3 day week can get JB for 18 months or 2 years (depending on the number of PRSI contributions).

When you become fully unemployed you will also have PRSI contributions for 2009. This information will be on your P45.

When you make a claim for full Jobseeker's Benefit they should be able to tell you how long is left on your claim.

Here's info regarding the Back To Education Allowance.

    Hope this helps.

Go to SW with your P45 soon as you become fully unemployed. A Jobseeker's Allowance claim is usually taken a few months before the JB is due to expire so there is no delay when your JB runs out.

Depending on where you live and your personal circumstances (age, whether you're living at home, etc) the means test for Jobseeker's Allowance can take quite a while.

If your JB runs out you can claim Supplementary Welfare Allowance (from your Community Welfare Officer at the local Health Centre) until your Jobseeker's Allowance is sorted.

Contact the Job Facilitator again and they should be able to answer your specific questions because they will have all the information about you.

    All the best.
