Hope this is the right place to post this issue.
Im trying to print a couple of pages of a brochure, there are large photos watermarked in the background and the foreground is blue (if that makes sense , im a complete newbie at this).Anyways it seemed to be printing ok in a few testers but now the blue has changed to a horrible purple.even after i changed the ink.
Does anybody know how to fix this issue or what went wrong?
Im using a dell photo 964 printer and photographic paper.all help would be very much appreciated.

well if you were test printing in a lower quality print ie. draft etc then the print your doing now is full quality photo try reduce the blue in the picture as there is more ink being placed on the paper now so it will be darker. blues and green never really print the way they are on screen anyway

Make sure the colour mode of the file you are printing is CMYK not RGB.

also (windows) start>control panel>viewclassic>colour management. Add your monitor type. Might help you

A helpful thread. I have to get back to printing soon, so this might also be of use:

    http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1205138/is-it-possible-to-have-a-cmyk-colour-picker

Sometimes the surprise factor can be pleasant, but with commercial work control seems to be everything.

Also a search for "print blue turns purple" will reveal that you are not alone with this problem.

the old way of doing this is to make colour samples print out dots sof colour that are in the image if they are printed out incorrectly edit the colour balance and try again until the colours come out as you want them.
