    Its ok, I have now got this issue sorted, I just came clean to the groom!

    tell him the truth .
    at least your making an effort to go to the church . Your just 1 of maybe 100 or 200 people who are going to the wedding .

    Just ring him and tell him that you will make it to the church but something has come up which you have to attend in the evening

    I'd just mention it to the groom. Though maybe not say there's something better you want to go to in Dublin!

    I'm sure he won't mind and he'll be that busy on the day. I doubt he'd even notice!!
