    Hi all,

Just a quick one.I'm being made redundant next month but have trip away planned for the next day.Can I sign on the next morning and then head off on my trip? I'll be away for 5 weeks.Otherwise I'll be broke when I come back if I can only sign on then.

PLAN A : Cancel Holiday , Look for a new job now as your still employed for four weeks and then book new holiday in a couple of months.

I could never enjoy a holiday if I just got fired

Cancel an entire holiday and lose everything he's paid for?! I say enjoy the holiday while you can, it might be the last for a long time.

tommy21, that is indeed fraud and you're not allowed to post it on the forum.

Go in, sign on, explain you'll be away for 5 weeks. You're allowed to take 2 weeks' holiday a year, so you won't get paid for 3 of those weeks but you'll get paid for the first 2.

Hmmm.I'll go in on the morning of trip and explain everything. It's been 10+ years since I've had a proper holiday.

On a side note, will I get back the tax that I've paid already this year if I can't find a job? And if so, do I need to do anything in order to get it or is it automated? Cheers.

    Yes, you will.
You can call them in the new year and request a review of 2009.

    Fair enough, apologies and retracted.
