    Hi,
I'm in New Zealand at the moment and i'm pricing a few days snowboarding.

I've never done it before so i'm going for lessons too.

Got a price of 474NZ dollars for the following-

3 Day Adult Complete Starter Park - The Remarkables

    Includes
    Rental Clothing: Jacket & Pants
Transport: Daily return coach shuttle to The Remarkables ex The Station Buidling, Duke St, Queenstown
    Lesson: 2 x 1 hour 30 minute (10.20am & 1:50pm)
    Lift Access: Surface lifts only
Equipment: Skis, Boots & Poles or Snowboard & Boots
    Wrist Guards: Yes, deposit required
For Ability Level 1: First Timer

    Description:
Designed for the absolute first time skier or snowboarder.

    Benefits:
Learn to ski or snowboard with confidence while having fun. Under the expertise of our snowsports instructors, learn the basic skills in staying upright, stopping, riding the surface lifts and basic turning.

    2nd & 3rd Days:
Starters will advance to the Complete Progression Pack, which will provide you with a single group lesson, skis/boots/poles OR snowboard/boots and unlimited lift access, allowing you to move beyond the novice slopes.

Thats about 235 euro. Anyone have a clue whether thats a decent price over here or could I get better?

The Remarkables and Coronet Peak are both fully owned by the same company so as far as the lessons and lift passes go that will be the best (only) deal you will be able to get without paying for each bit seperately. The gear rental costs I'm not too sure about, but it's unikely that you'd get that cheaper from one of the other shops in town for the full kit.

The Remarks is the better hill for boarding once you are able, and the begginer area is better than at Coronet as it is a bit bigger and has three magic carpets close together on a better angled slope for learning on which makes it a bit less crowded.

thats a pretty top notch deal, esp if you need jacket and pants. A liftpass will cost you that much on its own, give or take a few dollars.

The rental gear is also good quality, they only use brand new burton stuff in remarks.

    Get into it!

Sounds good...I have been on both Coronet and The Remarkabls in the last 4 days and both have great snow, not to icey so good for beginners. Thats a pretty good deal. Go for it! Also finish your day with a fergbuger and a Speight's. Cant beat it!

Don't go to Fergburger, it's totally overrated !!! I don't see what the fuss is about. V average.

For $10 a fergburger is worth it if only once.Try the chicken burgers...yum!

    Cheers lads/ladies,

wont be there till later this week or maybe even next week so i'll keep pricing for a few days more. Dying to give it a shot.

Mt Hutt was actually the same price, any of ya been there?

I'll defo be giving the burger a try, been hearing about it non stop here.

Oh and also forgot to ask... are these three days going to be spent on my ass?? I don't really have time or money to do much more at the moment, maybe another day or two max. Should I do a bit of skiing instead and leave the boarding untill I have more time?

When you try the burger, just think about it and ask yourself the following question "Is this burger over-rated?"

Wait until you are about 6 or 7 bites in.

Cheers lads, did the 3 days in the Remarkables. Loved it, just wish I had longer to keep moving up the levels. Will defo be boarding again. In Fiji now so I can't comlplain :D

Re the burger- I don't think its overrated, it tasted great especially with that relish they use, for ten dollars its a monster of a burger and mine wasn't greasy at all, burgers that size are usually pissing grease. I was well impressed. Got the bombay chicken burger another night, that wasn't great. Chips were a decent size too.

The big al was a bridge too far for me though, i'd need to starve myself for a day or two for that.
