    Hello All,

    Has anyone used blueface to run there business. I was looking to change our office from Premium rate ISDN to Blueface Business Enterprise 25.. Has anyone used this for there business. Also in relation to using a single broadband line what would be the spec for running the service above..

    Count 100 kbps up and down for each line

    25* 100k makes 2.5 Mbps up and down minimum to avoid risk.

    Cases where all lines will be busy at the same time should never happen though, but you need to take into account web browsing and other web apps.
    So if you want to avoid trouble get a connection with a minimum of 2Mb UP (the "down" speed should always but superior to the up speed).

    If you're restricted connection wise, you could use a bandwidth efficient codec such as G.729 for VoIP. Call quality will take a hit (will be more like a GSM mobile phone quality phone call, instead of a good landline quality phone call) but in many cases isn't too noticeable. This codec requires 8Kbps (allow 12Kbps to be safe) both up and down. So:

    25 * 12 = 300Kbps.

    Don't forget you'll also need to allow sufficient bandwidth headroom and QoS for other data if this connection isn't going to be used for just VoIP.

    we use blueface and another provider and trunk our calls out using IAX2 which is more efficient than SIP on asterisk bandwidth wise with multiple calls, and better behind nat devices,works very well no complaints.
    via 4MB ibb and 10MB magnet pipe.

    I've got a meeting with Blueface.. So I am planning to move the business across. Problem is I have a 4mb connection with IBB. And that is the best I can get at the moment in our IDA.

    Speak to IBB,they prioritise VOIP on their network anyway,also they can probably give you better contention on the 4MB service so you are getting a guaranteed say 4:1 or similar this would give you plenty on bandwidth.
    Also you could always get a second connection from them as well and just dedicate that to the VOIP traffic,just depends how many users you will have making calls at the same time inbound+outbound.

    I would think the max calls at the one time would be 5-10
