Guys,

My bro gave me his old 3G as he as ugraded to 3GS and I tired to unlock it as when i put sim in it said "no service" so I tried to jailbreak it then unlock.

No I think I have messed up.

I think its gone into DFU mode,so I go to restore it and i keep getting the message towards the end of the restore "could not be restored. an unknown error occurred 1013"

Any ideas

Got it restored folks after many times of trying.
Now does anyone know how to unlock it (dont want to mess it up again myself)

download and run redsn0w to jailbreak first
then:

1. Follow the steps above to jailbreak your iPhone.
2. Once your iPhone is jailbroken, open Cydia.
3. Add repo666.ultrasn0w.com to your sources
4. Install ultrasn0w, and reboot!
5. Now your iPhone should be unlocked.

Or, try using another lead. Your one could be faulty.

what a nice brother :P.. em sounds like to me that youve got the wrong frimware for redsn0w try this place for it http://www.felixbruns.de/iPod/firmware/ if that doesnt do it might be worth paying someone to do it for you

I have managed to jailbreak my iphone 3G with Firmware 3.0 (7A341),but after i use Cydia to unlock it nothing happens.I reboot it enter my pin for my sim but i can make or send calls or txts.

What am I doing wrong????
