I've been using my card a bit in the UK recently. I usually use my credit card when I'm over here as I used to hate the way they used to charge me for using Maetsro. However, I've noticed that they are now only charging 46 cents per transaction - I definitely remember them charging a euro or two. When were the fees reduced?

How was the exchange rate? Was it near the interbank rate?

I think it was pretty good. One of the transactions was for £14.99 and they charged me €17.45

So what works out cheaper if paying in shops in the UK - Maestro or Visa?? And if withdrawing from an ATM?
I remember I tried two same (CZK 600) cash withdrawals in Czech Republic last year and Maestro was a tad better (EUR 0.3).
