Just remember you're adding more glass on top of the glass already in the camcorder,I'm sure every manufacture spends ages perfecting the elements to get a sharp, clear, true colour image and adding another bit of cheap glass to the front won't help.

It's not expensive but I wouldn't be expecting anything amazing from it..You might even get vignetting with it..

Funny, I got one of these last week for my camera, was curious about how good or bad they could be, 52mm diameter x0.45, says "Stppo Optice pro digital wide-lens with macro". Haven't really used it much. Here are three test shots on pentax 18-55mm kit lens. One shot at 18mm without adapter, one shot at 18mm with adapter and one at 21mm with adapter.

    thanks for the replies...

just out of curiosity, one lens is 0.45x and the other is 0.5x

is this associated with the wide angle and if so which one gives the wider angle?

x0.45 is wider than x0.5, basically you get a lower focal length when you multiply by the the lower number 0.45, just under half
