Do you not think it does a good job of "capturing accurately that sense of optimism that is prevalent in Irish rugby."? Whatever that means.

it's much simpler, but not great imho. should save them some money stitching shirts emblems perhaps?

wonder how much it cost them? Bloody marketing departments always demanding rebrands so they can make pitches and get schmoozed...

Looks a bit oldschool, but nothing wrong with that! Looks grand!

Thanks goodness it's more user friendly. I had terrible difficulty wearing the old one

While it doesn't look too bad on the site, it looks slightly off when you see it on the training shirts. The proportions are all wrong, the lettering is too big in relation to the rest of it, leading to the tiny crest that appears on the training kit.

It looks absolutely perfect on the training gear, presentation-wear and on the new playing kit.

So it's changed from what we've seen so far? You'd swear they were ashamed of it on the pics below it's so small.

    No.
I think its perfect. Its 'small' on the last season's training gear that I have from Canterbury.
Its actually the exact same size as per IRFU's branding code.

What is this ? A crest for ants. It needs to be at least 3 times bigger!

Seriously the playing kit's crest should be at least twice the size. It shouldn't be so anonymous on the national kit.

I like it but I agree it doesn't look well on the training jerseys. Justin, does the new playing kit have the outer design around the logo with the white background like the last one did? I think that'd make it look better.

It is of the same height and width on that training shirt as it is on the past seasons'.

The playing kit crest is on a shield background similar to the previous. Same dimensions with the crest inside of the same dimensions as before. Thats all I can say until it is officially launched. It'll look great. Trust me.

I'm sick of posting about this so if you don't mind...I'll duck out for a while :D

I generally have to think for a minute to make sure it's not Wales' crest.

That's the first thing that popped into my head too.

    Very similar at a glance.

It looks good I admit but so did the previous one and for all the money that I'm sure was put into the new design, very little seems to have changed. To me it is a case of a missed opportunity to reflect the "new revitalised spirit of Irish rugby" or whatever the wording was on the website

If you won't read the manual, you have only yourself to blame.

    Looks good.

The 3 little "Shamrock flowers" had to be beaf'd up with a ball to make it tougher looking.

Are they also going to change the medical potion recipe?

And the Springbok is the toughest creature in the animal kingdom? Or is it only when its leaping? ;)

Hilarious, c'mon Amabokke, the mans got a point.

And in fairness, the shamrock on our crest is the deadly stinging shamrock that can only be found in the wild bogs of West Connaught.

    That stuff is dangerous.
