Hi all, never frequented here before.

I've a question regarding all the new tea (or coffee for that matter) that Tesco are now stocking. Most if not all of the new stuff is English, has anybody tried it? Is any of it worth replacing the old Barry's for considering it all seems to be cheaper?

Having some of the decaffinated "English Earl" tea lately. It's not bad. Usually I cna't drink tea 4 hours before I goto bed, or it'll keep me awake, but I can now drink this decaffinated stuff just before going to bed, which is nice.

In saying that, I don't drink it unless it's very late. Prefer Barrys classic any day of the week.

    Blasphemy!
I've generally found English tea to be of a much lower standard than Irish. Probably because of what I was reared on I suppose but there's a distinct difference in quality.

I can never take to tea bags where the tea is crammed in a tight tea bag. It may just be tea-arrogance on my part but i find most english tea bags fall into the cramped tea bag category!

Try tea-filters with your own loose tea. (Lidl sell them.)
I use the loose tea from M&S or if Earl Grey, http://www.solarisbotanicals.com/

Bewley's Breakfast tea in the yellowish box makes a great cup 'a tea as well. It seems to be only available in Bewley shops.

You can't beat Irish blended tea.
