Can I run the 200m with racing flats?

I cant get my cross country spikes switched out for 5mm.

Never done a sprint distance before but want to give the last one a go.

    Cheers

It wouldn't be ideal but I'm sure you'd be ok. Grip mighn't be great on the bend if it's wet but if it's dry it shouldn't be much of a problem.

If the weather is the way it is now you should be grand grip wise

You do know that you will have to start in blocks :)

It's not even worth doing it in flats...I'd go bare feet over flats! (not advising you to do that obviously). You have to use blocks and you won't be able to work against the track for the first 15m. You'd reach your potential much easier in a borrowed pair of sprint spikes / md spikes. How long are cc spikes? Couldn't you chance them?

Thanks guys didn't run the 200m in the end. I have lost the screw for the spikes and couldn't ply them out.

Going to invest in a pair for track and keep them nice and clean.

First time to race on the track tonight and really enjoyed it. Will be back next season. Hopefully injury free and faster.:)
