I've no idea what the heck iProd has to do with anything but I hope the iTablet doesn't come out for a looong time so I don't covet one. :pac:

Apple must have some selling point if they're going to release this and I'd love to know what it is.

I struggle to see what practical use an iPad would have. It wouldn't be portable like an iPhone or Touch and it wouldn't have the advantages of a laptop (physical keyboard etc). Also, it'd be touch based, so you couldn't use it like a regular tablet.

I really hope the rumours on what it is are wrong because if what they describe is correct, it's going to be a flop.

I guess the idea is to have everything controlled by the touch screen. No more mucking about with a finicky mousepad or scroll keys. Hold it in one hand, swish out the screen with your other.

It ain't for novelists - I'd imagine the keyboard doesn't lend itself to prolonged use. But for emails, media and surfing the net I find most of my keyboard use is shortcuts for doing stuff that could be done using a touchscreen.

And it would be somewhat more portable, what with not needing to open up an "L" shaped keyboard/screen layout.

I can definitely see a market. It may be Malibu Stacy's new hat - but I want one. :)

I'd say it'd be the Tablet.
@Mobius: It's Apples entry into the Netbook market. It's meant to fit somewhere between the Macbook and iPhone. I can see it being very functional. The Multi-touch on the iPhone is brilliant and I'd say it would fit great into a tablet.
