I have Sky multiroom installed upstairs in my bedroom but my phone connection is down stairs in the front room. Sooo i have decided to bring sky box down stairs to the same room as the phone cable so i dont have to run the cable up the stairs.

Anyway the cable from my dish is going threw my bedroom window if i was to run it back out the hole in the window and make a hole in the window down stairs so it can be connected there is it possible to connect too pieces of satellite cable together ???

I have an extra amount of cable which i bought but the original cable in my room is not long enough to go down to room downstairs.

If you use two F conncetors and a double female F it should be ok but to be honest cable joins are best avoided if posible.

Maybe a wireless phone connection might be a better solution?

Kinda thinking of just connecting the two wires like i had before. This wireless phone thing is just more money that im hoping i dont have to spend and would the wireless not all depend on how strong the signal is ???

Like would me being on upc affect anything?

Anyways using two wires to connect sky would this change the quality major?? like is that what the problem would be with using this method?

If you are going to use a join then i'd suggest doing it on the inside rather outside.
Drill another hole 9/10 mm, depending on the cable, beside the existing one, run your new cable in and make the join there, use amalgamating tape if you have it to waterproof the join and secure with cable clips.

When I go my sky installed they offered me a wirefree phone connection for my 2nd box. It is a little pricey but it works to perfection and no ugly cables. I think it was about 100 euro. my 2nd box was at very back of house there would have been cable everywhere.

    Just a thought

50 pounds , I am nearly sure you will get them in some of the larger electrical stores, or you may pick one up cheaper online
