    Tuesday, 4 August 2009 15:41

A masked man armed with a knife has carried out a raid on the Dairygold shop in Buttevant, Co Cork, this afternoon.

The man, who stole €1,100 in cash, made off in a car with two other men also wearing balaclavas.

Gardaí said a Dairygold employee, who was returning from lunch, encountered the masked raider brandishing a knife as he was leaving the premises.

The employee was not injured during the raid.

The car, a silver Peugeot 406 coupe, is believed to have been involved in a burglary on a house in Croom, Co Limerick, and a foiled raid on Fedamore Post Office in Limerick earlier today.

It is also believed to have been used in a failed attempt to rob a premises on an industrial estate in Mallow, Co Cork, last night.

    Gardaí have appealed for witnesses.

oh if there is one thing you can be sure about its that crime will increase,
and you know something the sooner the better and the govt will realise what sort of a mess they have got us into with the mass exodus of cops and cutbacks etc
