Direct access to someone's voicemail

Hi, is there a code common to all networks which allows a caller to directly go to a person's voicemail to leave a message... i.e. starts to ring, I punch in a code and it goes straight to their voicemail. I know about the 5 in front of their number, just wondering if there's another way...

thanks for replies.... just thought a specific in-call code was available is all... is it possible to go directly to voicemail on landlines?
