    Anyone done one before?

What kinds of questions Stryker ask?

Never did a phone interview before, bit nervous.

    Hi OP,

I did one of those phone interviews with Stryker a few years back, it's not so much an interview but just the stage before it. Psychometric testing as far as I know, it's to get an idea about your personality and to gauge whether or not you'll be a good fit for the job. If your answers match the personality profile they're looking for then you may be called for an interview.

As far as I remember there were some off the wall questions like, do you eat breakfast? what do you think of holidays? etc.

I remember reading about Stryker psychometric interviews before and basically it's just a list of questions that someone has on a sheet in front of them,as you answer they tick the most relevant boxes and this is then compared to the ideal answers. Some companies swear by it and some disregard the method as being useless.... either way it's always been the way Stryker operate!

Best of luck with it anyway and let us know how you get on and no need to be nervous at all it's quite straightforward.

Answer, don't think. If you give out the answers you think are correct, and you don't get the job, you'll be kicking yourself.

    Thanks jobucks,
Were you going for a manufacturing job, did you get an idea of the type of personality they were looking for i.e over eager or work drone?

    Hoe long was it?

    Thanks

    Hi Op,

No I was going for a purchasing/planner position... no idea what type of personality they were looking for but it wasn't mine anyway :)

You're better to answer the questions honestly as one of the above posters said as you'll be kicking yourself if you gave what you thought were the "right" answers and you didn't get an interview / job out of it.

As far as I remember the whole phone call lasts about half an hour.

When is your call scheduled for?

    Hi Jobucks,
They said in the coming weeks.

Was half the interview a normal interview i.e "tell me about yourself" and the other half the behavioral questions?

Do they give you time to think about the strange questions? i.e breakfast

If you don't answer in time do they move onto the next question?

How did you answer the breakfast and holiday questions?

1.The whole call was the psychometric test.
2.You don't really need time to think about answers like that, if someone says did you have breakfast this morning then the answer is either yes or no... be honest.
3.You shouldn't need extra time to answer any of these questions, they are all easy and just require an honest response. There's no trick questions or anything that you will find difficult.
    4. I answered them honestly, I did have breakfast that morning and told them what I had. I love holidays... what person doesn't? and I told them so.....
If you lie on your answers they will be able to tell by your response time being longer and any hesitations you make, the calls are recorded so they can review them later.

It is difficult, make no mistake. The Gallop Psychometric Test interview will ask a question you've already been asked in a different way a few times to make sure you're consistent.

They record the answers and then analyse them, and then pass their analysis to the hiring manager who will then contact you. The questions will be vague and you can use examples from your personal life, college, and work to answer.

The interview will last an hour or so.

Best of luck and send me a message if you get hired, thanks!!
Questions for Sales Role (they ask for examples):

    "Are you currently working?"

"Do you trial close?" - have to know a little about selling to know what he is asking!!

"Do you consider yourself a tactful person, give examples"

"If your company has been banned from a hospital, how would you go about getting new business at that hospital?"

"Do you deal with all surgeons alike?"

"Do you do what you say you will?"

    "Do you constantly pursue efficiency?"

At the end of the interview you will be asked how well you thought the interview went and how well the test got to know you out of 5 (5 being very well). Answer every question and don't ask the interviewer anything other than to repeat the question if needed.
