COD 4 tactics

I only got to play COD 4 multi player for a short time and have a very low rank, going back to it now everyone is seriously ranked compared to me.

can anyone any offer some tactics for playing against players when you only have the bare basics/minimum weapons etc?

My best advice is for a sniper what you do is learn off the best sniping spots in all the maps. You then take 1 when a match starts and take out 3 or 4 people. You then mive to the next 1 as people still think you are in the first one. Keep repeating this process and works wonders for me.Hope this helps

If run and gun is your thing try mp5 with x3 grenades, stopping power, extreme conditioning and change grenades to bandolier as soon as you can. Use the iron sights and no silencer. Two to three bullets to the chest/neck/head should put down everybody but juggernaughts with last stand. Just engage enemy at short to medium distances, don't even think about players at long distances, just avoid them.

If you find snipers are taking you out too often you might want to think about a smoke grenade to create a curtain between you and them to let you move about.

The only other advice I can give you is get to know the maps well. Good luck and happy hunting.

2. Crouch*

3. Shoot unsuspecting player.

*May need UAV jammer and silencer.

Find dead people.

Lie amongst them.

Shoot people when they get close, thinking you're dead.

Also, crouch if hunting people, so they don't hear you coming. If you get close to behind them, melee them with your knife to kill them. Ensures you kill them without letting his nearby team mates know it.

That's what everybody else seems to be doing at the moment. Which is why I don't play it anymore.

this seems to be pretty successful so far

I recommend just playing a lot, I found this out going to World at War, and the map difference is huge.

Run and gun, and get in their and shoot at everything and anything, thinking twice then shooting will get you killed.

Act like every corner has an enemy around it, and strafe when you get to it, or lob a nade or stun nade before you get to the corner.

Watch for other players what they are doing, ie. are they standing behind a wall and lobbing nades. Are they crouched somewhere? Copy their positon next time, and see what happens.

Default M4 Carbine and

default Mp5
are good weapons to start off with.

I would recommend UAV Jammer for someone knew to the game, you won't get killed so often.

Also, you wont learn alot by playing in high populated servers, you'll only die quicker, so play low populated servers, you get a better feel of the maps too with more space to roam about.
