Irons Advice

I have been cut from 12 to 6 in the past 14 months and a few lower handicappers I have played with recently have suggested that I should consider changing my irons. I play with Ping G-10s (got them new in May 08). I think they are an excellent club and they are definately a major cause for my drop in handicap.

Having said that I know Ping make smaller headded Irons designed for better players . I suppose my question is should I stick with the iorns that have got me to where I am so far, or should I look to invest in "better player" clubs ??

As far as Ping goes the options seem to be the i-10s, the new i-15s, s-57s and s-58s. I am a loyal Ping customer by the way, and I don't think I'd trust any other brand as much as Ping.

Anyone play with any of these irons, if so what do make of them ??

    Thanks in advance :)

Well done on getting to 6 from 12.

If your irons helped that much I'd very much stick with them.

At 6 your already hitting the ball well so most of your improvement should come from your short game.

I have Ping G5s and wouldn't change them.

Lee Westwood uses the S57s I think but I also think he's used other Ping Irons equally well. Mark Calcavecchia, Bubba Watson, Mark James, Hunter Mahan, Jiminez and others also have used Pings.

    thanks for the advice lads.
I'll take a look and the new range but I reckon I'd be mad to change.
