    Hi
Just wondering if anyone might be able to help. I am getting ERR messages when using the AFnikkor 28-200 on my N80. I also have an 18-55 lens that doesent give any problems. Funnily enough on full zoom the lens doesent give the ERR message.

I have had the lens a little over 2 years and have had no hassle with it previously. Neither the lens or camera have ever been dropped etc and there is no obvious damage to the body of lens or mounting ditto with the camera. I have trawled through a couple of Nikon forums to no avail so if anyone has an inkling of what the problem is or where I could get the answer I would be very grateful

is the lens locked into it's smallest aperture setting?

Also check that the lens is seated correctly. Try pressing the lens release button and slightly turning the lens about 2 millimetres back and forth and reseating it.

    Thanks for the replies

    1. Its not possible to lock the aperture on this lens as there is no aperture ring

    2. I have taken the lens on and off a good few times and wiggled it around to no avail

    Anyways cheers
