Has anyone had their wedding reception at The Schoolhouse, Ballsbridge, or has anyone been a guest at a reception there? My daughter is getting married next May and is thinking of it for her reception, and would like some reviews of the place. Any info would be helpful

I think it is very popular with weddings from the Registry Office. I was actually considering having my reception here but did not find them too accomodating - but that was a LONG time ago!

I was at a reception there about 2 years ago. The drinks bit in the pub was 'ok' but the restuarant for the meal was nice. It is a nice compact venu and the food was great.
The only thing I would say is that not having any music to dance to takes some of the 'weddingy feel' from the occasion.

Very curious how it would work for a wedding? The restuarant is tiny and the bar is public. Cant see them having a DJ

At ther wedding I was at.....they had a reserved area in the bar where they served mulled wine, champers, tea coffee etc.....then after a couple of hours we move in to the restuarant for the meal.
We had the restuarant to ourselves, so no problem with speechs etc.
But, no DJ as this would disturb guests in the hotel etc.....So after the meal and speechs you just mull around having drinks and chatting to friends in the resurant area. At the end of the wedding I was at the bar was closed so everyone either went home or in to town....
