Electronic Delivery Via eBay (iLok license)

Could be an eBay/general consumer query...

I'm looking at the Soundtoys Native Bundle which costs $495 direct from Soundtoys, and more or less the same from the usual UK retailers, and I can't see it in Ireland at all. It's on eBay for €274-ish, here via electronic delivery to an iLok account, a pretty significant saving.

Maybe I'm being overly wary (the feedback is fine, eBay shop, authorised dealer, power seller and all that). Electronic delivery in itself is no biggie and has generally been fine for me in the past (direct from manufacturer), but has anyone here bought plugins in this way from eBay, and how did it work out? I'm not a frequent eBayer.

drop tony belmont a mail and ask for a price. i got it from him for around $250 via electronic delivery.

    tony@highprofileaudio.com

he's 100% straight up and the more you shop with him the better the deals get.

Yeah.. I've seen that too for a couple of different synths.

Wasnt looking to buy anything, just caught my eye.

Wasnt too sure about it as well - even though the feedback was excellent.

I'm a regular Ebayer, but I've never bought anything like that before. I got a couple of sample packs by electronic DL - years ago - and it was completely normal as transactions go. Its the amount of €'s that make you think twice.

It turned out a few years later.. the Sample Packs were actually belonging to another company - but had just been repackaged. When I got a demo of the real thing I noticed that the files were called similar things to the Ebay Sample pack. They were one & the same. Seller is not registered anymore. Wonder why?!

I also bought a Training DVD, which again, turned out to be a Rip of a "Real" product. It was cheap & I thought I'd give it a shot.. might be good, might be ****!

The Guy actually included a Crack of Albino 2 on it for PC.. And this was a Logic Training DVD! Go Figure that out!! :D

He's not registered anymore either after my complaint.

Moral of the Story - If its too good to be true.. it probably is. I'd be wary.

If nothing else.. if you have a problem & have to go back to them, they might be gone.

Actual Boxes / Real products & stuff are cool on Ebay. I'd stay away from everything else.

Thanks lads....I've emailed Tony Belmont, so I'll let you know how that works out. If I get this for anything like $250 then I'll be a very happy camper.

It's the eBay factor I'm wary of, even if it's not an entirely logical concern given that at the end of the day, you're doing the same thing in most electronic delivery transactions.

I've done a deal with Tony Belmont, so far so good - and a bit cheaper than the eBay shop.

Thanks DamagedTrax, saved me a few quid.
