How can Snape be a death eater when he is a half blood? I know Voldemort was half blood too but wasnt his aim to eliminate half bloods & muggles and to just have pure blood wizarding families????

Snape was just a pawn in Voldemorts army. He meant nothing to him but he needed allies, no doubt if voldemort got the world he wanted he'd have gotten rid of snape eventually.

Agree totally with the above, and remember that very few were as talented as Snape in the Dark Arts at that time and Voldemort would have surely wanted him on his side in any war.

yea, i reckon if Voldy had ommited all half bloods he just wouldn't have had the man power necessary to take over.. plus, he probably learned from Slughorn how to chose the most talented of wizards and witches. Makes you wonder how he would have treated Hermione if he'd been born 50 years later....
