Is it strange that the republicans and now more recently the loyalists have got rid of all their weapons. Now I am no war-monger or advocate of violence, but a completely un-armed civilian population means the government can easily control the population, and enforce whatever they wish using police and/or army. Now you have all seen McGuinness, Adams and Paisley pictured with world leaders Bush and Brown etc. Anyone with brains should know they have sold out to the whims of governments of other, more powerful states. Actually, the leaders of Sinn Fein have betrayed every Catholic in Northern Ireland, they all sat at a round table and promised never to give up the struggle until the last British soldier left Ireland, they broke that promise. There are thousands of British soldiers in N.I. as I speak. This island is not free. We are left defenseless against a government that whos knows what plans they might have, or what the future holds. There might be peace, but there is no unity, I wish the loyalists and republicans would embrance unity, and I wish they would see beyond flag colours. I wish the loyalists could see how rotten the British government and royalty is, that they support.

There are about 200,000 licened firearms in Northern Ireland.

There are something like 5,000 soldiers.

Might I suggest you are being paranoid?

The vast majority of people are more or less happy with getting on with their lives, putting food on the table and a roof over their head. They would mostly like to have something approximating self-government on most matters. Who are you to tell them they are wrong?

Jaysus I wouldn't know where to start with this 'post'. Suffice to say there are plenty of weapons still around this country and let's be honest there doesn't seem to be any problem getting more.

Its a very poor attempt at "Unity" IMO. You start off your post by being critical of the policies of sinn fein. The good friday agreement is what changed sinn fein. Not by there choice but by the will of the people that support them. As socialists they must go along with that will and did.

And who said they gave up the struggle. They just replaced the bullit with the ballot box!

Loyalists are united to the queen of england! There is a constant attempt by Sinn fein to unite loyalists and republicians but you seemed to have missed this.

To the unionist population the british system is not rotten but explain for "Loyalists" looking in why its rotten, in your opinion

There is in my opinion nothing new or interesting to be said here. Its just stirring!

...unless you try doing it legally, then you become an evil promoter of 'GUN CULTURE' or some such shite.....

I think the OP is refering to the well known conspiracy within Whitehall to get all the paramilitaries to disarm and then send in the army to wipe everyone out. Just as they have done in Scotland and Wales......:D

Paramilitaries aren't accountable. So I'd rather they weren't armed.
