ok so what's hd ready mean exactly? I know full hd pretty much means as good as you can get, right?

To me hd ready sounds like the tv is capable of HD but it doesn't come ready or something? I just baught a 22inch HD Ready TV, I figured no point getting full with a small screen. I'm just curious more than anything, thanks :)

    this explains it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HD_ready

full hd is a higher resolution so has the ability to show sharper image with things like bru-ray or hd-dvd discs

on bigger screens 37"+ the differance between the two becomes more noticable

Sky digital outputs at 720p and 1080i-"HD READY"
Blue Ray outputs at 1080P-"Full HD" .

    Hope this helps

    to expand on above.
full hd is 1080p which means 1920 x 1080 pixels, the p means progressive, ie 1 frame is a full picture. blu ray etc is shot at that resolution which means you are seeing pretty much exactly what the camera shot

hd ready means that the tv etc can display a hd film, but it will not be at the correct resolution. ie it may show at 1280 x 1366 which is means you are not seeing all the detail you should

Plasmas can go as low as 1024 x 720 resolution and still bear the HD ready symbol.
